This Project has been in the works since 2016 when the City of Amenia was projected to be entered into the Fema Flood Plan, making it mandatory for anyone having a mortgage to have to buy federal flood insurance.  This Levee project that just ended the design stage will make it so that we don't have to purchase flood insurance while you are inside the Levee and it will also correct many of the internal drainage issues we have had in town when he have had flood runoff and large rains.
